It was so fun to see him again! He has changed so much in the few short weeks since these were taken. They grow entirely too quickly! He was just four days old in these photos. In fact, they were taken on his first day home from the hospital. Even at four days old, he made us work for those sleepy shots. He is just too precious for words!

This was so fun! To celebrate Ethan’s ninth birthday, we surprised him with a trip to Florida, and by surprised I mean totally surprised. He didn’t have a clue! We picked him up after school and headed straight to the airport. The kids had no idea where we were going. When the airport was in sight, we told them our plans. Their reaction was the most adorable combination of shock, disbelief and excitement. This combo is actually pretty similar to what I’m feeling at the realization that my baby is NINE years old! Don’t get me started!

And the surprises didn’t end there! For his birthday gift, we surprised him with tickets to the new Legoland that just opened in October near Orlando. We went the next day. I’ll share some snaps from our trip to Legoland in another post.

Can I just tell you how happy I am that it’s March? Other than my birthday and Valentine’s day, February doesn’t have much going for it. In fact in this household, it’s not-so-affectionately referred to as the armpit of the year. I’m really excited to get outside again! And I’m happy to report that we did find some budding daffodils, a great sign that spring and summer aren’t too far off.
